DRUPAL MODULE / SEARCH & DISCOVERY

Entity BackReference

Indexed reverse entity references for Search API; its project page now directs users to functionality in Search API itself.

What it does.

Entity BackReference made reverse entity relationships available to Search API indexes. It allowed an indexed entity to include selected fields from other entities that referenced it, expanding what search and Views could expose.

The module also handled index updates when referenced content changed. Its project page now marks it obsolete because Search API incorporated an equivalent processor, and directs existing users to remove this separate module.

Capabilities.

  • Indexing of incoming entity references
  • Selection of reverse-reference fields
  • Use of indexed relationships in Views
  • Index refresh support when related content changes

Using the module.

  1. For a current implementation, follow the equivalent processor in Search API.
  2. The original project page instructs users to uninstall and remove Entity BackReference.
