What it does.
Pdf to Imagefield D8 is an experimental Drupal 8 port for generating PDF preview images. The sandbox source creates an image of a PDF’s first page and stores it in an image field on the same content entity.
The file-field configuration lets a developer choose the target image field and conversion image style. Preview generation runs while content is saved, with logic to preserve an existing manual preview unless the source file changes and needs a refreshed image.

Using the sandbox.
- The sandbox metadata depends on ImageMagick, File and Image.
- Use a file field that accepts PDFs, enable preview generation, then choose the destination image field and image style.

This is an experimental sandbox for developer use, not a full Drupal project release.
The inspected source targets Drupal 8; current image-toolkit compatibility was not tested.
